STATEMENT OF FAITH:
In the Cape Girardeau area, The Commission Fellowship was started by a group of people who had heard God's call to start a Bible teaching church realizing the great need to learn the Word of God and to give it out to others. Our primary emphasis is teaching the Word of God verse-by-verse so that we can receive the full counsel of God and His Word. We believe as we receive the Word of God into our hearts that the Holy Spirit will begin to do a work in our hearts and cause us to fall more in love with Jesus. We derived the name for the fellowship from the Great Commission Jesus laid out in Matthew 28:19 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.”
The primary emphases of this fellowship is threefold:
1.
Evangelize the lost
2. Disciple born-again believers
3. Equip
the Saints for the work of the ministry
The Commission Fellowship is a non-denominational church. We are not opposed to denominations as such, only their overemphasis on the doctrinal differences that have led to the division of the Body of Christ. We seek to emphasize the spiritual unity of all true believers. We make no distinction concerning an individual's race or ethnic background because we acknowledge that there can be no preferential treatment with God. It shall be the policy of this church to give preeminence to the preaching of the gospel, to the studying of the Word of God, and to exalting the Lord Jesus.
